ABOUT BRICK-CERAMICS

BRICK-CERAMICS represents the work of David Brickey, a Pasadena California based ceramic artist.  A Designer and Art Director for 38 years with Walt Disney Imagineering, David took up ceramics in 2016.  His approach to ceramic design is from an Architectural viewpoint of intersecting geometric volumes with a graphic application of glazes.  He focuses on large vases which evolve from throwing or handbuilding two or more separate clay sections which are joined together at the greenware stage into a single unified form.  This stacked assembly creates unique pieces that push beyond the more straightforward geometry of the typical thrown vase.
